Dr. Peter Elfar graduated from the University of Sydney in 1997 and joined the Royal Australian Air Force as a dentist, serving in Richmond and Point Cook. Afterward, he practiced in Armidale for two years before relocating to the UK, where he worked for eight years, including time as a school dentist on the Isle of Man and in various practices. He furthered his studies at the University of Bristol.

Dr. Elfar has trained internationally, including in Switzerland with Straumann for implant placement, and has attended continuing education courses in the UK, US, and Europe. Since acquiring Sundial Dental in 2006, he has focused on modernizing practices with cutting-edge technology.

He has been a pioneer in Australian dentistry:

• In 2011, he became the first Australian dentist trained in LANAP laser gum therapy in California.
• In 2012, he was the first in Australia to complete advanced clinical CEREC training in Scottsdale, Arizona.
• In 2013, he was the first to complete the Implant Masters Series in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Elfar introduced several innovations to general dentistry on the Mid-North Coast:

• 2008: CEREC same-day crowns
• 2009: 3D X-ray technology
• 2011: LANAP laser protocol
• 2012: In-house surgical implant guide
• 2013: Lateral wall sinus lifts for implants

Committed to the community, Dr. Elfar supports local junior and senior sports teams and volunteers in medical/dental missions, including in the Dominican Republic.

Outside of dentistry, he enjoys flying, mountain biking, and spending time with his family.
