Dr. Washington Thai grew up in Sydney as the youngest of three brothers in the suburb of Pennant Hills in Sydney. His eldest brother, Dr. Winston, followed a career in health and inspired him to follow his own passion into a health-related field. During his undergraduate studies and throughout his postgraduate studies, he worked at Chemist Warehouse (for seven years as a pharmacy technician), which grew his desire to help patients and helped him decide upon a career in dentistry.

He graduated from the esteemed University of Sydney in 2023. During his studies, he practiced at both the Westmead Dental Hospital and Sydney Dental Hospital and did a rural placement in Nowra — two hours south of Sydney. This cemented his commitment to move regionally to practice dentistry and to learn more about Australia and life outside of Sydney. In 2024, he joined Dr. Peter Elfar and the team at Sundial Dental and started his life in the Hastings Valley with his partner and their golden retriever, ‘Kuro’.

Dr. Washington is committed to working with each patient to understand their unique needs, concerns, and goals. His goal is to offer his patients an enjoyable, informed, and comfortable dental experience. He enjoys learning and staying up to date with the latest in dental techniques and, of course, practicing alongside Dr. Peter Elfar! Dr. Washington has committed himself to providing excellent personalised care to all his patients.

In his free time, Dr. Washington enjoys taking Kuro to the beach and going out for brunch at local cafes. He loves to chat about travelling as he has recently visited Japan, Singapore, and New Zealand and hopes to explore other parts of the world in the future to experience and learn about different cultures.
